In Donetsk took place an exhibition of creative works of people with fewer opportunities

On the 29th of May 2010. in Donetsk in the Regional Library Krupskaya the exhibition-fair of creative works of people with fewer opportunities "Open Space for artists" took place. The participants of the exhibition were representatives from public organizations of disabled people from Donetsk, Yasinovataya, Slavyansk, Lughansk, Makeevka.

Finally the long-awaited exhibition will be held!

On the 29th of May in Donetsk there will be organized the exhibition of the art crafts made by people with fewer opportunities. We invite everyone who wants to show his talents, meet extraordinary artists, enjoy their company; viewing art works and event get the craft as a present. During the exhibition the organizers will award the winners of the competition “The best craft works 2010”.

One day from life of the volunteer

My day started at around half past ten, when I arrived at the Centre. Usually I get there a little earlier, but unfortunately I had jumped into the wrong bus in the morning, which caused me to have a little delay. But nevertheless I was in time for the first event... Tatiana Stepanova’s “master class” in Monotype. This is a technique for painting which always results in very interesting outcomes.

Monotype master classes


In frames of the project "Open space for artists” with the support of anti-crisis humanitarian program of the Open Society Institute (New York-Budapest) and the International Renaissance Foundation will be organized master classes in Donetsk, Mariupol and Gorlovka. The aim is to develop creativity and artistic talents in people with disabilities, as well as train volunteers and social workers how to conduct master classes on art for the disabled.

Open Space for Artists


In March 2010, with the support of anticrisis humanitarian program the Open Society Institute (New York-Budapest) and the International Renaissance Foundation in Donetsk, has launched a new social project aimed at supporting and cooperation of NGOs working with disabled people in Donetsk region for promotion and involvement of local citizens into charitable activities and support to amateur artists, who belong to the category of persons with disabilities by creating and maintaining online galleries of their works.
